All Roads Lead to Confusion Hill, or Do They?
More About the Concept
There’s nothing wrong with a little quirkiness; River Phoenix’s character even said it in the movie Stand By Me: “So what? Everybody’s weird!” In a society where good and logical behavior is expected, it’s good sometimes to dive into a world of illusion, and that’s precisely what Confusion Hill provides.
This peculiar family-friendly attraction is right off the borders of Piercy, nestled in the northern part of the Redwood Forest. Its history began in 1949, and the park has been confusing families until now! It was even recognized in 2010 as a California State Point of Historical Interest! The whole point of it is for you to lose all sight of reality slowly, and drift in a world where the laws of physics go right out the window! Now, the question is: Are you ready to give the experience a try?
What Exactly Can You Do There?
We can’t think of a more thrilling, weird, and fun experience than a day at Confusion Hill! Its highly entertaining attractions and activities make the 2-hour trip from Sea Rock Inn worth it! Here are some of the things you can expect to see and do at Confusion Hill:
Go On a Train Ride
Board the historic Mountain Train Ride and get ready for an exciting 30-minute trip through the forest. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the wildlife and ecosystem of Northern California. This is a first-come-first-served attraction and costs $10 per adult and $7.50 for children between the ages of 4 and 12. If your kid is under 3, he or she can ride for free!
Visit the Gravity House
The gravity house came to be when the original owner, George Hudson, built a twisted shack atop a confluence of unexplainable forces, leading to magnets going wild, water running uphill, and objects changing sizes! You’ll probably understand better why their slogan is “Is seeing believing?” once you step into the house. Adults can get in for $5 and children for $4.
Stop By the Gift Shop
Before you make your way back to Sea Rock Inn, make sure you stop at the gift shop! You wouldn’t want to forget about your experience or imagine it was all a wild dream now do you? You can find items carved out of redwood to bring back to your loved ones, and even a snack bar for the road!
