How To Make the Most Out of Your Visit to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens

The Mendocino Botanical Gardens is a nonprofit botanical escape where you can touch, smell, see, and learn about the earth’s natural beauty. The gardens are known for their Rhododendrons, which produce some of the most breathtaking blossoms of the year.

Take a Romantic Stroll

Most of these trails are paved, so they’re easily accessible and easy for people of all ages to enjoy. As you make your way through the stunning plants and flowers, you’ll fall in love with your sweetheart all over again.

Bird Watching at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

Over the years, the botanical gardens have become a haven for birdwatching. The gorgeous and safe environment makes a fantastic habitat for local birds. Over 180 species of birds live in or visit the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens every year. You can see these birds on your own, but we highly suggest attending a birdwatching walk. The Mendocino Botanical Gardens features experts from the Mendocino chapter of the Audubon Society to help lead and answer any visitors’ questions about the birds that live in the gardens. These birdwatching walks occur on the first Saturday of each month and the third Wednesday of each month between April and October.

Discover Art

Besides looking at the flowers, one other exhibit that many love to view is the Sculpture Garden. Combining art and nature, this masterpiece features some incredible pieces of artwork. This Arts Council of Mendocino County and Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens partnership is ideal, giving artists a chance to showcase their work and visitors a platform to appreciate it. Love a particular piece? They are all for sale!

Shop at the Garden Store and Nursery
