Hit a Trail!
Take some time to explore the coast on the California Coastal Trail! This restored walking trail gives you the chance to breathe in fresh ocean air while soaking in incredible views. You’ll get to see wonderful, local spots like Glass Beach and Noyo Harbor! The trail is open from dawn to dusk and covers 4.5 miles. A parking lot and three restrooms are available on site.
Tip: If you have a wheelchair, no worries! The trail is fully paved and eight feet wide, so you can access and enjoy it easily.
Explore Fort Bragg’s Seafood Market
If you’re going to shop while in Fort Bragg, shop well! The Princess Seafood Market is a great place to discover locally sourced products, including fresh fish caught that day. The market is right on the river at North Harbor Drive and serves sashimi-grade, sustainable, and wild-caught seafood. The deli menu includes items such as soups and chowders, crab sandwiches, salmon bagels, and even poke bowls. All of these delicious products are caught by the amazing crew of the Princess: Captain Heather, fish biologist Wendy, scuba diver and fish filleter Maia, First Mate Cybelle, and accomplished fisherman Rebecca. They’re the real-life princesses of the industry!
Taste the Best Fish and Chips in Town
Looking at all of that fish is sure to make you hungry. Walk next door to Sea Pal Cove and taste the best fish and chips in town! You’ll love the rustic, dockside atmosphere and the view of the fishing boats in the harbor. Outdoor seating is also available with a giant fire pit for colder days! The simple menu includes gluten-free clam chowder, prawns and chips, cheeseburgers, french fries, and fried desserts.
Unwind at a Local Brewery
Before heading back to Mendocino, relax with a good beer in hand! There are a couple of breweries that are worth checking out for happy hour. North Coast Brewery has been a local favorite since 1998 and offers a menu of top-notch craft beers. The pub atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, and you can even catch some live music while you drink!
Overtime Brewery is one of the newest additions to Fort Bragg’s brewery scene. Taste the creations of two beer lovers and try some of their pub food! Our personal favorites are the shishito pepper poppers and the Steam Whistle Burger.
